Bitch of just over 4 years who is beautifully balanced and full of breed type. Feminine head with slight dome to skull and well defined stop. Dark eye giving an appealing expression. Well laid back shoulders, straight forelegs and tight feet. Deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well muscled loin and rear quarters. She moved effortlessly reaching well in front and driving from the rear. BOB.

Bitch of nearly 7 years of age. Another beautiful example of the breed who pushed hard in the challenge. Loved her ring presence both on the stack and moving. She is a compact and sturdy hound who is in excellent condition for her age. Loved her head and eye giving good expression which she carried well on the move. Excellent front and rear assembly with good muscle tone. Deep chest with well sprung ribs. Presented and handled well.

Good length of neck down to sloping shoulders with good muscle   and deep chest. Powerful well muscled rear with a good turn of stifle. He moved well over the ground with a free and active stride.

I loved this handsome red wheaten dog of nearly 4 years of age who is well balanced throughout and presented in excellent condition. Good length of head, wider between the ears and dark round eyes giving an intelligent expression. Excellent front with muscular sloping shoulders, straight legs, good bone and well arched toes on compact feet. Well muscled loin and rear quarters with excellent turn of stifle and well let down hocks. He gives the impression of an upstanding hound capable of great endurance and his movement was straight forward and active. BOB.

Lovely 7 year old bitch presented in excellent condition throughout and she moved superbly over the ground. Beautiful head and almond shaped eye. Good front assembly with excellent muscle. Moderate length to back and deep chest. Broad rump covered with strong muscles giving good drive from the rear. Her movement was free flowing and she coped well with the floor surface.

Lovely fawn bitch of 20 months who is very pleasing on the eye and lovely to go over. Feminine head with bright eyes. Long powerful neck, well set back shoulders, deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well bent stifles and well let down hocks. She has excellent muscle to the front and rear with well developed thighs. On the move she was very playful but when she settled she covered the ground with great speed.

Powerful well muscled loin with slight arch. Muscular thighs and well bent stifles. Well let down hocks. On the move she covered the ground well with great drive from the rear. Loved her long conical head shape with beautiful expression and the tan markings to the sides. Deep chest with prominent breast bone, chest low to ground. Excellent front and rear with good muscle enabled her to move freely across the ground with ease.

Blue fawn dog of nearly 3 years of age. He is well balanced in outline and pleasing to go over. Loved his head and bright oval eyes giving an alert appealing expression. Well laid back shoulders, deep chest with good tuck up. Slight arch over well muscled loins and excellent strong rear with good bend of stifle. Moved with long flowing free strides and had excellent drive from behind to cover the ground with ease.

1st Miss K. Hill’s Whippet Kierpark Livin On A Prayer ShCM.
Party colour dog of nearly 3 litter brother to winner of post graduate class. Very similar to his brother he is well balanced throughout and has excellent muscle tone which showed in his movement enabling him to cover the ground easily with great drive from the rear. Pleasing head carried on a long neck. Straight forearms with elbows in line with withers. Deep chest and well filled in front. Good bend of stifle to rear.

Hound Group.

This was a superb group line up with a great depth of quality across all the breeds present. In the end I was splitting hairs to select my final placings as each and every one was worthy of the highest honours.

Group 1 Mrs A. Rollinson’s Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund Cwmdarhian Lady Marmalade By Diamonddax.                       I loved this beautiful red bitch of nearly 2 years of age. A compact hound with moderate length, well muscled she coped well on the move with the surface of the venue covering the ground with long strides and driving from the rear with feet moving parallel to each other. Beautiful head and eye giving lovely expression and carried proudly on the move. Excellent front and rear quarters, prominent breast bone, deep chest. Presented and handled well she went on to win B.I.S.
Group 2 Mr M. Howgate & Ms Y. Hull’s Whippet Palmik Live To Tell J.W.
Handsome fawn dog of just over 18 months of age. He is a picture of balance combining grace, elegance and power and this showed well in his movement which had a long easy stride with hind legs driving and coming well under. Excellent head and eye carried on long muscular neck, good front and rear assembly with well developed second thighs.
Group 3 Mrs L. Scott’s PBGV Soletrader Aint Actin Up At Overbecks ShCM.
Beautiful bitch of nearly 2 years of age. A well balanced example of this rough coated breed, compact and short legged. Loved her Head and eye giving an intelligent expression. Excellent front and strong muscular rear. Well off for bone she moved freely across the ground reaching in front and driving from the rear.
Group 4 Mrs J. & Miss R. Rowe’s Standard Wire-Haired Dachshund Bolorias Naughty But Nice.
Beautiful chocolate bitch of just over 2 years of age. She looked a picture on the stack with everything in the right place. Low and compact she has an excellent front with a prominent breast bone and well laid back shoulders. Moderate length of back, broad full well muscled rump and rear quarters. She moved easily over the ground with long strides and drive from the rear.
Hound Puppy Group.

Again another line up of quality hounds to choose from, all of them displaying breed type to make them worthy winners in their own right.

Group 1 Mrs S. Ergis Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund Siouxline Flynn Rider.
This was my find of the day an absolutely stunning red dog of 10 months. He is well balanced throughout a picture of as near to perfection as you can get, compact, well muscled, moderately long with no exaggeration. Long conical shape to head with almond shaped eyes carried proudly on the move. Excellent shoulders, deep chest and well ribbed up underline which was clear of the ground. Well muscled rear quarters finishing off this handsome hound. He moved well over the uneven ground of the venue displaying long reaching strides and driving from the rear. He went on to win BPIS and I am sure he has a promising future in the show ring. Presented and handled well.
Group 2 Mrs J. & Miss R. Rowe’s Standard Wire-Haired Dachshund Bolorias Arabella.
Beautiful 7 month old brindle bitch again well balanced both on the stack and whilst moving.  She has a beautiful head with lovely expression from her eyes with those eyebrows above. Excellent front and rear with good muscle tone. Deep chest with prominent breast bone. She moved well over the ground keeping her balance and topline at all times.
Group 3 Mrs E. Allisstone’s Whippet Kaymark Ring Of Roses.
Brindle bitch of 7 months who has great ring presence. Beautifully balanced she has a well laid back shoulder, deep chest with good tuck up. Slight arch over loin and well bent stifles. She has good muscle tone throughout and along with her excellent conformation she was able to move effortlessly at speed across the ground.
