My thanks to the officers and committee for their hospitality on the day. I was pleased with the overall depth of quality of the dogs even though the entry was numerically small and my thanks to all who entered under me.

My star of the day this stunning black dog is full of breed type from head to toe and demonstrates soundness throughout. Well proportioned head with good under jaw, chiselling to sides and dark almond eye giving a wicked expression. Long neck used to carry his head with pride on the move. Well laid back shoulders with good return of upper arm and straight front legs with strong pasterns and tight feet. Deep in chest with good spring of rib. Short in back and a good well muscled loin. His rear balance complements his front with well bent stifles, good muscular thighs and rear hocks that are well let down. All of his qualities showed through when he moved as he covered the ground effortlessly with great drive from behind carrying his tail high and clear of his back. Presented in a profuse harsh coat that was immaculately trimmed and so expertly handled in the ring not only did he win best dog, best of breed he then went on to win the utility group and best in show. A real credit to this kennel that produce dogs of such a high and consistent quality.

Another fabulous example of the breed this beautifully balanced black bitch of just less than 8 years is full of breed type and she can really move. I loved her head which is feminine with typical expression from her dark almond eyes, nice chiselling to sides, well defined chin and good long ears set low to sides. Correct front which has a well laid back shoulder with good muscle, straight legs and elbows tucked under chest. Chest is deep with good width and well sprung ribs. Broad well muscled loin and correct high set tail which she carried up on the move. She has excellent balance to the rear with well bent stifles which match her front angulation. Good muscular thighs and well let down hocks with tight feet. On the move she used all of her quality to cover the ground with a free and light action and great drive from behind. Presented immaculately in a fabulous dense harsh coat she is not showing her age in any way and pushed hard in the challenge. Best bitch, reserve best of breed, best veteran in breed and she went on to win the utility veteran group.
